Tuesday 24th. I have listed my larger telescopes and accessories for sale on Solarchat! The specialist solar astronomy forum on the WWW.
I shall never use these items again due to their bulk and weight. Making handling without a permanent observatory beyond my advancing years.
Though English, I am now based in central Denmark. So anybody outside the EU will probably face import taxes and hefty freight charges. For which global buyers will be responsible.

In the hope of reaching a larger audience for these unusual items I have now listed them on Stargazerers Lounge. European Section small ads.

Dear Chris, Its been a while since I dropped into your blog and was startled to hear of the changes chez Rusted. These are completely understandable given circumstances but still bring sadness to myself and I suspect the troops of amateur astronomers who you have inspired. Thank you so much for the many years of posts and providing an aspirational model of how to do "out of the box" ATM. I hope we will still get to read about your adventures with your remaining stable of scopes. Best wishes Jon
Hello Jon, I don't monitor the comments on my blogs as much as I should. Most of the comments are blatant, commercial spam. I now see you left some kind words quite a while ago. I am sorry I did not respond at the time. After losing my wife my health went downhill. The endless years of hard labour were suddenly no longer possible. There was the guilt at the money I spent and the hours I could have devoted to my late wife. Instead of building things that so very few would appreciate. Or even understand the reason for them.
Lifetime obsessions simply evaporated. Never to be discovered again. Little of my remaining instruments seem to have the slightest interest for others. I gave away a well weathered MkIV mounting. The telescopes lie unloved and unwanted upstairs. They'll probably go in the skip. When my strange hoard is cleared from the house on my demise.
I tried advertising stuff on the forums but had no interest. None of it can be turned to a quick profit by resellers. Which rather saddens me. It could have been returned to the amateur community. To be cherished by those who care and admire the unusual. I have donated so much stuff to charity locally that they told me to go away! They could not cope with sorting it all.
The trees which forced my two storey observatory continue to grow. I am happiest now out on my e-bike in the empty rural lanes. Getting away from all the memories. Don't feel sorry for me. I have had a good innings. I am grateful for all the fun I had. Always toiling away alone. I have outlasted many more deserving. Best regards, Chris.
