3rd Feb 2019 Sun blank with several small proms.

Sunday 3rd: 36/39F [out/in] Early overcast clearing to full sun with the odd fluffy cloud moving rapidly across from the NW.

11.30. Sun seems completely blank in both white light and H-alpha.
32mm for 68X in 180mm [+Solar Continuum] 20mm for 60x in 150mm/8 H-a. [120/10]

I always wait to have good look around before "cheating" and opening Gong Ha to check my own findings.
Gong Ha shows 2 smudges on the disk but nothing seen so far. Small prom is still invisible here.

11.50. 36/40F Two small proms now showing at my 2-2.30 in the 45° elbow. A leaning pillar at 2.00 and a small cloud at 2.30. A bright 'mountain' on the limb at my 7.00 has now vanished. Tried the 15mm for 80x but still too soft.

12.00. Stellarium says sun is presently at 17.5° apparent altitude. Sun will be to the meridian at 17.50° altitude at 12.22pm CET. Seeing slowly improving but boiling on the limb in the 7". Shrinking, central spot of dew inside the 7" objective. Temperature in dome/outside tracking with 4° differential.

12.15. Third small prom appearing below the other two at my 3.00. All are small and difficult to see but improving. Gong Ha: Each site shows different proms. Unable to confirm my own orientation and I am still lacking the usual surface texture on the disk. Still too soft for the 15mm for 80x.

12.35. Swapped from the Baader 45° elbow to a TS 1.25" star diagonal. Poorer image! Boiling on the limb in H-a so now I'm back to the 45°.

12.55. 37/42F Finally getting more surface texture. Have all but lost the upper proms but now have a small pillar at 5.00. Since vanished.

13.20. 37/42F Have opened both downstairs entrance doors. Trying to flush out any warmer air in the dome using the chimney effect. The light NW wind is probably not helping the cause.

13.30. Started capturing Neximage5 videos of the solar limb in white light. Registax6 isn't showing anything when I select a captured video. Grr!

14.00. Lunch!

15.50. 38/42F More time wasting with Registax. Clouded over. Tried to use AWR Meridian FLIP but it always goes the wrong way [via North!]  This is probably to do with my settings. Or, rather, lack of them. The large pier and larger refractors don't take kindly to the northern route. I have downloaded and printed off a couple of copies of the latest AWR IDS menus. There are plenty of instructions from AWR but remembering those in context is hard work.

16.00. Back indoors to get warm. A wet week ahead is forecast but with the promise of potential sunshine on Tuesday.
