20.4.20

20.04.2020 Oh solar zero.

Monday 20th: The run of sunny weather continues. Will the seeing conditions warrant another full day in the observatory?

10:00. 57/53F. Setup went well for a change. AWR time and date correct. C-Du-C still insists on + or west for my location despite showing minus [east] in Setup.

Slew close enough to be able to center the sun by winding up the gain.  Gong Ha showing no features and only a small prom at 10 o'clock NE.

I'll have a scan around the disk. Then the limb for anything interesting.

Well, I searched the disk and found nothing worth capturing. The proms were tiny. Never mind hedgerow proms. It was back to trimming beach hedges in hot sunshine!

It reached a toasty 58F at 13.00. We observed two, very tiny clouds in an otherwise cloudless sky.

15.00  59.5F in the shade. I checked to see if the seeing was any better. It seemed fairly steady with moments of clarity. So I captured some 2k frames at 800x600. 7ms, zero gain. Then pushed the results hard in ImPPG. There is a very small AR right in the center of the image. [Top left, click for enlargement]
