This blog has become my ATM design, build and imaging diary. I have recently built several new telescopes, a large equatorial mounting and a raised 10' [3m] dome on an octagonal building. Be aware that I deal with building solar telescopes. Which are potentially VERY dangerous! I can accept NO responsibility for any action not directly supervised by myself. 12.08.20 Poor seeing conditions.

Wednesday 12th 79/75F, bright sunshine with no cloud so far. An easterly breeze is pushing the telescope around. So I have draped and clamped shade netting across the lower half of the slit to act as a windbreak.

Several proms, filaments and two bright spots. Tried without and then 2x and 2.6x GPCs. Images are wobbly and soft on the monitor. Resulting still images are fuzzy and overcooked to bring out detail.

Swapped from the B1200 to the PST BF for the proms but they are still too soft.
