Thursday 17th. 60F. I spent the afternoon in the dome trying to capture the prom on the eastern limb. Not with any success. I tried all the GPCs [Barlows.] Without overcoming the softness of the image. It became progressively more cloudy. Making it impossible to cut through the murk. It was cooler than promised too.

Hi Chris
Glad to see you have the dome completed, looks like water is or has been a bit of a problem?
Best regards from Australia Ed appinsw@outlook.com
Hi Ed,
Sorry I missed your comment. Hope all is well with you?
The dome has similar properties to a sieve but is inverted.
I collect a bucket full of rainwater after each deluge.
I just couldn't make my mind up what to do about it.
Theoretically I shall now glass-fibre over it next year.
I rather like my dome and it is bigger than the usual 2.7m.
So if it survives the winter I'll give it a winter raincoat.
Which can only occur when it is warmer again. ;-)
Let's be careful out there!
Chris
