Sunday 13th overcast clearing to cloudy. I have been wrapping the PST etalon in PTFE plumbers tape. The idea is to ensure better alignment. There isn't enough sun to be able to focus and tune.

13.30 Lunch.

14.26 65/74F Out/in. After lunch there was more blue sky and continuous sunshine. Thermal shaking of the image. Soft too. AR2833?

I am trying to shade the lower observing slit with a green, lightweight tarpaulin. Not with any great success regarding the seeing. Though the laptop is now shaded.

I checked the temperature of the new dome in hot sunshine. 130F outside. 125F inside. Then I checked the plywood dome. It was much the same.

No doubt the plywood will cool much more quickly. It is noticeably cooler whenever a cloud passes over. The shutters are usually facing the sun during solar imaging.  So shade the dome beneath them.

16.09 66F/76F A long, sunny afternoon with rather poor seeing conditions. I keep capturing and processing without much improvement.

17.27 65/76F. Continuing to capture disturbed regions on the solar disk. SE quadrant.

Unless the seeing improves I shan't be able to confirm the etalon has been made better by wrapping.
