1st September Imaging AR2860

 *

Wednesday 1st 60F, bright sunshine.

10.00 [CET] already started imaging. The seeing is fairly steady but mushy. No definition at all.

10.32 Finally beginning to see some detail. Though the heavy processing has removed great swathes of solar limb.

11.00 63F. The image is showing medium frequency wobbles on the monitor. A small spot is following AR2860.

I have removed the tarpaulin from the dome to let the sun dry everything out. There was heavy due overnight again. I also trimmed back the overhanging glass mat. From around the top drawer slides on the zenith board.

12.04 Slightly better seeing conditions.

Afternoon: 73F with a cloudless sky. As the seeing conditions were so poor I went back to fibre-glassing the dome. This time I added the green colouring to the resin. It was nothing like the colour of the bottle. More of a bottle green than grass.

Another layer of 300gm/m² added on each rib. With an extra layer on the lower ends.

17.00 Going back to imaging in the hope that the seeing has improved. Ever the optimist.

17.05 First image in this session. AR2860 is nearer the limb than this morning.

17.19 Changed to the 1.6x GPC for more field of view.

Then had to crop it to remove the out of band areas beyond the PST sweet spot.
