7.10.21

7.10.2021 Imaging AR2882

 *

Thursday 7th 42F, cold with thick mist. Cleared to sunshine.

Started imaging. Dome contents dewed over after first cool night. Optics dewed. Hair drier to the rescue. The dew bands need power! I have no cigar lighter outlet socket!

10.41 First, half decent image of AR2882.

10.55 Cloud coming fast from the south! I may have to return to working on the dome.

PST sweet spot problems. Blank areas, lack of detail and variations in brightness.

11.15 Thin, high cloud heading south. Thicker cloud heading north.

11.23 Some nice detail but still struggling with the PST etalon. The iStar objective is interstitially dewed up. It's no wonder the view is slightly soft.
