Fullerscopes Telescope Mountings

This blog has become my ATM design, build and imaging diary. I have recently built several new telescopes, a large equatorial mounting and a raised 10' [3m] dome on an octagonal building. Be aware that I deal with building solar telescopes. Which are potentially VERY dangerous! I can accept NO responsibility for any action not directly supervised by myself. Monday 1st August 65F Full sunshine but with white haze around the sun.

14.53 [CET] First image. Detailed but PST etalon sweet spot spoiling the show. Uneven lighting. Dark on the right. Light on the left.

Cloud has arrived overhead to spoil things even more.

17.38 Back out with the cloud now gone. Heavily cropped.

17.54 Still trying. Seeing soft. Difficult to focus. Heavily cropped.

18.10 The seeing conditions are still soft and shaky. I have increased the frames captured to 1000. Still stacking 50/1000.

18.47 50/1000 Sun very close to the trees. Heavily cropped.

18.49 Last image today. The trees have won.
