Thursday 12th March 2020. A stormy day coinciding with a clampdown on public movements and gatherings because of the coronavirus.

I have tried to improve the image which I captured of yesterday's, short lived flare at 12:46 [CET].

Originally I had used my usual five minute process regime. Load the video into AS!2 to stack and produce a still.

Then onto iMPPG to sharpen it up without over- sharpening.

There seems to be more detail to be extracted but the seeing wasn't perfect and I was using a long focal length of 1500mm and capturing a 640x480 frame size.

All of these images have been cropped in PhotoFiltre7 to remove heavy vignetting and then resized [larger] to 500 pixels for posting.

I then coloured the image and applied Histogram to gently darken only the detail. Less dramatic than minus Gamma.

Sometimes I added gamma and even a single touch of sharpening.

I prefer the paler "Old Gold" colour but most imagers make their images appear "warmer."

No doubt an expert imager & processor could draw out much more than my clumsy efforts here. They use "flats" and layers and Photoshop's other magic touches to even greater effect.
