5.04.2020 Spring sunshine! With gales!

*

Sunday 5th. Mild, with bright sunshine but spoilt by a southerly wind and thin, high cloud.

10.40  52/50F [In/out] A gusty southerly wind keeps moving the telescope. So I have closed one shutter. I'm using the telescope's shadow on the obs. wall to center the slit.

Much better seeing conditions today! AR 12759 is still showing as a highly disturbed area almost centrally placed in the upper quadrant. Though without obvious umbra. 1st image 800x600 Mono8.

2nd image 640x480 Mono16. Better image! 3ms, Gain 102, 320fps.

Some serious gusts blowing things about in the dome!

3rd image: 11.13. New colour: Sepia + Colour Saturation. 30% of 3k frames. 3ms, Gain 100. 320fps.

4th image 11.49. 54/52F. Now using 40% of 3k.  So windy my hands are cold! Trying different processing. Light/dark,
Gamma/contrast, Histogram, colours. I am labeling images now to avoid confusion.

12.00: Getting cold because of the wind! Have gloves on now.
Going to fetch my down jacket!

12.30: It is becoming impossible to capture videos as the slit is facing straight into the wind!

Afternoon imaging session was wasted due to very gusty wind and poor seeing. The spot seems to be fading as I pause again at 17.45[CET].
