Monday 12th 42/41F. A cold night 35F. First this year. Thick mist to start. Cleared suddenly to bright sunshine with some cloud. Centred on sun after very poor Goto slew. Far too high and laterally off. ASCOM is now disconnecting whenever I plug in the ZWO camera!
Talking of which: The ZWO's T2, female thread screws directly onto the Lunt B1200S2 blocking filter. Not much help though. Because now I can't fit 1.25" GPCs to the camera nose. [T2-1.25" adapter.]
The hairdrier has come in handy. Now I have to get up to speed again on cold mornings. Opening the dome exposes the cold instruments to slightly warmer air. So everything instantly gets dewed over. I need to fit overnight protection for the optics again. Double, camping mattress, foam dewshields with polystyrene plugs helped the cause last year.
