This blog has become my ATM design, build and imaging diary. I have recently built several new telescopes, a large equatorial mounting and a raised 10' [3m] dome on an octagonal building. 11.08.2021 Imaging through cloud.

Wednesday 11th 60F, bright start but lots of large clouds coming from the west. Two layers.

9.10 [CET] 07.10 [UTC] Trying to image: ASCOM[AWR] COM3 Does not exist. AGAIN! Wireless Internet crawling again.

Focused, centred. Just waiting for the cloud to clear. First images have lots of detail in places but large areas completely off band. Sweet spot ring? Now the sky is covered in huge clouds.Without the sun I can't tune the PST etalon properly. Had a brief bright period. Tried rotating the LUNT BF with camera relative to the etalon but it didn't help. Seeing conditions fairly steady and fairly transparent. 6/10 + 6/10 ?

10.13 [CET] enough sun to retune the etalon. Not perfect but better. Frame size 800x800. Seeing gone fuzzy and more mobile. Clouds huge!

11.17 Rain stopped play!

Afternoon. Brief clearing provided a noisy prom full of internal reflections and dust bunnies. I used the PST BF5 instead of the Lunt B1200.

17.59 Clearer sky but the seeing is soft. Spot formed in the east.

18.51 Towards the end. 16 bit SER.
